Policies & Procedures Recycling & Refuse Road Construction Updates


If your child's car seat meets the criteria it's time to recycle. Bring your old car seats to Car Seat Recycle Day, sponsored by Safe Kids Wisconsin and its partners. For more details and to find out if your car seat needs to be recycled - click here.


It's the Law!

  • Plastic bottles
  • Glass containers
  • Steel/bi-metal & empty aerosol cans
  • Aluminum beverage cans
  • Cardboard
  • Office Paper
  • Newspapers, catalogs & magazines
  • Mixed papers & junk mail
  • Phone books, paper egg cartons, 12-pack boxes, cereal boxes, etc.

Preparation guidelines: Please empty and rinse all recyclable containers. 

Place paper items in paper bag.  Flatten cardboard.

During holiday weeks, expect garbage and recycling pick up a day later than usually scheduled.

Special Item Recycling!

Motor oil -  leave at curb on your recycling day in a plastic container with lid fastened (milk jug).

Lead acid batteries - leave at curb on your recycling day (car, lawnmower, motorcycle, etc.).

Yard Waste

The City of Schofield will pick up bagged leaves and branches, (but not grass) curbside.  Brush will also be picked up or chipped curbside.  We ask that all branches be piled in one direction with all of the stubs facing the street.  Grass clipping and branches may be dropped off at the City compost area on Drott Street.  The City encourages residents to take advantage of this service.  You may call 715-571-8436 for more information.

M-T-Th-F:  7:00 a.m. to 3:30 pm

Wed: 7:00 to 8:00 pm

Saturday:  8:00 am to 2pm
